About Maranoa Downs

Craig operates a successful 3,000 hectare beef cattle operation in Stewarts Ranges, SA.

He runs approximately 1,600 Angus Wagyu and Angus herds as well as a self replacing Hereford herd.

Craig experiences trace mineral issues in his livestock, particularly copper and cobalt.

Craig’s aim is to increase fertility rates, conception and productivity in his cattle.

Craig’s Treatment Program

300 heifer calves will be used to assess the impact of injectable trace minerals on cattle resistance to internal parasites.

Calves will be randomly allocated into one of two groups:

  • Group A (50%, 150 head) will be treated with Multimin.
  • Group B (50%, 150 head) will be remain untreated.

We will be measuring Multimin results by:

  1. Worm egg counts
  2. Body weights
  3. Incidence of diseases
